MG Gundam Heavyarms Custom (EW) MG重武装高达改（EW） MG ガンダムヘビーアームズ改（EW）

This MG Heavyarms Custom was given to me by a friend when he was leaving the US. My original plan was to do a quick straight build and hand it off to another friend as a display piece. Then I noticed a few sink marks while building it, got annoyed, and sanded them down. After sanding, I figured I might as well give it a flat coat. While mixing paint, I thought that if I was already spraying it, I might as well add some shading too. One thing led to another, and it ended up taking more time than planned. By last night, I had grown a little too attached to give it away, so I kept it.

Personally, I have never been especially fond of the Heavyarms line’s mechanical design. It feels a bit like firepower has been piled on through copy and paste. Since the gun ports are so densely packed, with little visual room left for ammunition storage, the design also gives me a slightly contradictory feeling: as if real-robot logic had been forced into a super-robot body. That said, the silhouette is still good-looking, and the full-open hatch gimmick is excellent, so I suppose I have made peace with it.

I later added decals and a matte topcoat as well, but I did not have time to take proper photos. I will see if I can add those later.

Originally, I was supposed to stop at the state shown above, but somehow I pushed through and finished it.

这盒MG重武装改是一个朋友逃离美国时丢给我的。本来我打算简单素组昨晚就送给另外一个朋友那理摆着。结果做的时候看到几个缩胶有点不爽就给打磨了，打完之后想着磨都磨了不如顺便平喷一下吧，调漆的时候又想喷都喷了不如直接做个阴影吧，于是就多花了点时间做成了现在的样子。昨晚之后有点舍不得送了，于是就给留下来了。

个人来讲其实没有那么喜欢重武装系列的机设，因为稍微有点复制粘贴强行堆砌火力的感觉。而且因为炮口堆得太满，在备弹方面没有预留空间设定其实给我一种往超级系机子上面强行塞真实系要素的矛盾感。不过造型还算好看，全炮门展开的机构也很优质，姑且算和解了。

其实后续还上了水贴和消光，但没来得及拍照。后面有机会看看能不能给补上。

このMGヘビーアームズ改は、友人がアメリカを離れるときに譲ってくれたものです。最初はさっと素組みして、別の友人のところに飾ってもらうつもりでした。ところが組んでいる途中でいくつかヒケが目に入り、気になって削り始めました。削ったならついでにフラットに塗装しよう、塗料を調色しているならせっかくだから陰影も入れよう、という流れになり、結局いまの形になるまで少し余計に手をかけることになりました。昨夜の時点で少し手放すのが惜しくなってしまい、そのまま自分の手元に残すことにしました。

個人的には、ヘビーアームズ系の機体デザインをそこまで強く好んでいるわけではありません。少しコピー＆ペースト的に火力を盛りすぎているように感じるからです。砲口があまりにも詰め込まれている一方で、弾薬を収める余地があまり見えないので、スーパーロボット的な機体にリアルロボット的な要素を無理に押し込んでいるような矛盾も感じます。とはいえ、シルエット自体はかっこよく、全ハッチ展開のギミックもよくできているので、ひとまず和解したということにしておきます。

この後、水転写デカールとつや消しトップコートも入れましたが、まだ写真を撮る時間がありませんでした。機会があれば後で追加したいです。

本来は上の状態で止める予定だったのですが、勢いで最後まで仕上げてしまいました。
